Forward progression
Helping you to identify your next steps is one of our key aims during your time here and there is lots of information and support available.
Careers
Our award winning careers team are on hand to help you plan your next steps and offer bespoke advice. You can book an appointment throughout your time at college and look out for the regular information bulletins.
HE and Industry Events
We hold two large exhibition events which focus on options for future studies and careers, the Training, Employment and Apprenticeship (TEA) Fair and Moving on Day. We also host regular industry focussed seminars and workshops where experts share experiences and explain roles in various sectors.
Prospects Diploma
Prospects Diploma is completed as part of the Tutorial programme. The Diploma was designed in collaboration with employers, training providers and HE institutions to ensure the skills developed meet the needs of future employers and education establishments. Students build a professional profile which they can use to create a CV to take with them when they leave college.
Work Experience
All students source, participate in and evidence meaningful employer engagement totalling 36 hours. This is made up of 15 hours virtual work experience and a minimum of 21 hours in person work experience. This is to develop employability skills in an area relevant to career aspirations, or support career exploration.
“The next steps advice that I was given allowed me to discover more about the career paths available to me in STEM and how to become a strong applicant for competitive university courses.”
Estelle
“The College has given me the opportunity to learn so much more about my options for after college, including uni applications and information about apprenticeships. Coming to the end of the year, I have narrowed my options down much more which was helped greatly by my Tutor in my personal one-to-one sessions in particular.”
